8 Day Murchision Falls Primate Safari


His tour includes the famous Murchison Falls National Park, Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, Kibale, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park, and Lake Bunyonyi, as well as other major Ugandan destinations. Safaris and a recreational boat ride on Lake Bunyoni, also known as Lake of Thousand Islands, are among the activities available. as well as the thrilling day-long Mountain Gorilla and Chimp tracking adventures. Exit Bwindi and head to the airport.


Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Murchison Falls National Park with a stop at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary en route

    Today’s journey will take you north of Kampala to Murchison Falls National Park. You’ll stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary on the way, where you’ll go on a guided rhino tracking tour with an experienced ranger, giving you a unique opportunity to see rhinos up close.Murchison Falls National Park is Uganda’s largest conservation area, covering over 3,840 km2. The park’s name comes from the mighty Murchison Falls, which are formed when the Victoria Nile powerfully forces its way through a narrow cleft before plunging 43 meters below with a thunderous roar. While visiting the most visited destination, you will be able to see wildlife such as elephants, lions, and buffaloes, among other species.

Day 2: Early morning game drive, boat safari, and hike to the top of the falls.

    On this day get up early and have breakfast, then your driver and ranger guide will pick you up from the lodge at 7:00 a.m. to begin your game drive. During the drive, you will have the opportunity to see lions, buffaloes, giraffes, elephants, antelopes, water bucks, and birds, among other animals. Drive back to the lodge after the game drive around 11:40 a.m., relax/freshen up, and have lunch as you prepare for the afternoon boat cruise. On the boat, you’ll see Nile crocodiles, hippos, buffaloes, and elephants along the Nile’s banks, as well as a variety of beautiful birds singing in the trees, including bee eaters, colored kingfishers, and shoe-billed storks, among others. The boat ride will take you to the base/bottom of the Murchison Falls, where you will be able to see the mighty waterfalls up close and personal. Hike to the top of the falls, where you’ll be met by your driver guide and driven back to the lodge.

Day 3: Depart Murchison and Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park.

    After early morning breakfast, check out of your lodge with your packed lunch and begin your journey to “the primate capital,” Kibale Forest National Park. The long drive is breathtakingly beautiful, passing through tea plantations and the lush green countryside that is so characteristic of Uganda.Kibale Forest National Park is located in west-central Uganda, near Fort Portal, just east of the Rwenzori Mountains. The 766-square-kilometre park is mostly made up of evergreen rain forest, with elevations ranging from 1100 to 1600 meters. Kibale Forest, which forms a continuous forest with Queen Elizabeth National Park, is one of the last remaining expanses to contain both lowland and montane forests.You’ll eat lunch on the way and arrive in the evening for an overnight stay and dinner.

Day 4: Chimp trekking in Kibale Forest and later transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

    After breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters where you will be briefed and the search for the amazing chimpanzees will begin at 8:00 a.m. Other wildlife species you may see while tracking them include golden monkeys, grey-cheeked mangabeys, L’Hoest’s monkeys, and birds such as the green breasted pitta. You will be in line to see the males guarding their territories, the young ones playing and feeding when you meet the chimpanzees. You will return to the lodge for lunch and later check out of the lodge before heading out for Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will arrive in the evening and check into your booked accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Day 5 Game drive & afternoon boat cruise-Queen Elizabeth National Park.

    Awake early and enjoy a morning game drive where you will see elephants, elands, antelopes, buffaloes, and lions, among other animals. Return to the lodge later to relax and eat lunch. Set out for a boat cruise on the Kazinga channel, which connects Lake George and Lake Edward, in the afternoon. You will see a variety of animals including crocodiles, hippos, water bucks, buffaloes, elephants, and storks, among others, who come to the waterhole to drink or bathe, as well as birds such as storks and Kingfishers. This will undoubtedly be one of your tour’s highlights.For dinner and the night, return to the lodge.

Day 6: Depart Queen Elizabeth National Park and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, with an en route game drive in the Isasha sector.

    After breakfast, depart for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, which is famous for its resident tree-climbing lions. The chances of seeing these lions are about 70%, though they can be difficult to spot at times (especially when they’re hunting for prey in the grassland). I hope you get a chance to see them; the sight will be breathtaking! Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is the next stop.Bwindi is a large mountain gorilla habitat in Uganda (home to an estimated 400 gorillas, or roughly half of the world’s population), with several habituated groups that can be tracked. With a long day ahead of you, you’ll do little on arrival except for check into your lodging and relax as you prepare for your Bwindi gorilla trekking adventure the next day.

Day 7: Gorilla trekking.

    After an early breakfast and a briefing by a ranger guide, you will enter the gorilla sanctuary for your adventure. This rain forest is breathtakingly beautiful! The area has a dramatic steeply forested landscape and is densely forested, but it is crisscrossed by numerous animal trails that allow tourists access. The length of time it takes and the terrain vary depending on the movements of these massive primates. Once you’ve found a gorilla family, you’ll have an hour to spend with them. Spending time with these gentle and endangered giants is an amazing, exciting experience that should be savoured for a long time. Get back to your lodging. After lunch, check out and make your way to Lake Bunyonyi by taxi.With its 29 islands of various shapes and sizes scattered across the water, Lake Bunyonyi is framed by lush green terraced hills that reach a height of (2,200 -2,478) that make it magical and you could admire them all day.

Day 8: Transfer to Entebbe International Airport

    Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at your hotel while admiring the stunning scenery of the Lake Islands, and then fly out of Entebbe International Airport. We’ll stop for lunch en route in Mbarara and at the Equator line in Kayabwe for photography and art purchases, if interested.Continue your journey until you arrive at the airport late in the evening. 

Day 9: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park.

    Arrive in the park early in the afternoon and relax before heading out for late afternoon (evening) game viewing. Expect to see eland antelopes, zebras in large numbers, topis, impalas, warthogs, Uganda kob, and Cape buffalos among other animals on the game drive. Later, unwind at the hotel where you’ll be spending the night.

Day 10: Nature walk and transfer to Entebbe Airport.

    After a hearty breakfast, head to Mburo for a morning park/nature walk with an armed Uganda Wildlife Authority ranger/guide. Hyenas returning to their dens after a night on the prowl are frequently seen on this early morning guided walk. You’ll also get up close and personal with Zebras, Giraffes, and Eland, Topi and other antelopes, and Cape buffaloes, among other animals. Take the Trail to the top of the hills to get a view of Lake Mburo and the surrounding area. You can see 9 of the twelve lakes that surround Lake Mburo National Park from this vantage point.
