Day 1: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park and walk through Bigodi Swamp

Our guide will pick you up from your hotel around 7:00 a.m., brief you on your tour, and then drive you to Kibale Forest, which will take approximately 5 hours. After lunch, you will be taken on a walk through the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary. This is a guided swamp walk where you can get up close and personal with primates such as monkeys, birds, and butterflies. With about 138 species of birds, the wetland is best known for being home to the Great Blue Turaco. This walk takes between 212 and 3 hours and is a must for bird watchers. Because part of the walk is muddy, you’ll need good walking shoes. Hopefully, you’ll see the Sitatunga antelope and the Shoebill Stork, which are both elusive. This is an opportunity not to be missed. You’ll see some primates here, including a chimp at times. The black-and-white colobus, grey-cheeked mangabey, red-tailed, l’Hoest’s, and blue monkeys, and olive baboons are among the other primate species. Bushbucks, mongooses, and a variety of other animals can also be found here. Dinner and a night in.

Day 2: Tracking chimps in Kibale Forest National Park, then transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Kibale Forest National Park has the world’s highest concentration of primate species, including chimps. In Uganda, about 5,000 chimpanzees live in the wild, making it a great place to see them! The park’s primate population, which includes chimps, colobus monkeys, red-cheeked monkeys, and red-tailed monkeys, is well-known. These are frequently seen swinging in the forest trees and feeding on wild fruits on your chimp trails.Around 6:30 a.m., an experienced ranger will take you chimp tracking. You’ll have an hour with the chimps once you’ve found them. After lunch, you’ll return to the lodge before driving to Queen Elizabeth National Park, which will take approximately two and a half hours. You’ll arrive late at night. Engiri Game Lodge hosts dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Transfer to Ishasha Sector after a game drive and boat cruise in Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Your day will begin at 6:30 a.m., when the sun rises, which is typically the best time to see animals in their natural habitats. Early morning game drives will allow you to see Africa’s famous “Big 4,” including Bush Bucks, Giant Hogs, Antelopes, Waterbucks, and a variety of birds. You will complete your game drive and return to your lodging in time for lunch. Following lunch, you will embark on a two-hour boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, which connects Lakes George and Edward, where you will be enthralled by the concentrations of giant hippos, elephants, and crocodiles, among other animals. At the water’s edge, you’ll see a wide variety of birds.Transfer to Ishasha Sector for Dinner and Overnight at At The River Ishasha Lodge after the Boat Cruise.

Day 4: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park after a game drive in the Ishasha Sector.

Early morning game drive in the Ishasha sector, with the possibility of seeing tree climbing lions, and then transfer to Bwindi National Park after lunch.Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda is a large habitat for mountain gorillas, with an estimated 400 gorillas – roughly half of the world’s population – and several habituated groups that can be tracked. Its mist-shrouded hillsides are engulfed by one of Uganda’s oldest and most biologically diverse rain forests, dating back over 25,000 years and home to nearly 400 plant species. With a long day ahead of you, you’ll check into your lodging and relax before embarking on your Bwindi gorilla trekking adventure the next day. Rushaga Gorilla Havens Lodge will provide dinner and overnight accommodations.

Day 5: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and Lake Bunyonyi Tour

You’ll have an early morning breakfast before heading to the Park headquarters at 7:45 a.m. for a briefing on gorilla trekking rules with other trackers. To find the gorillas, you’ll have to trek through thickets and undergrowth with your guides, which can take anywhere from 1 to 8 hours. The densely forested landscape is crisscrossed by numerous animal trails that provide access to tourists. Once the gorillas have been located, you will have one hour to spend with them before being transferred to Lake Bunyonyi. The journey will take you through a beautiful part of the country known as the “Switzerland of Africa” due to its unique cool climate despite its proximity to the Equator. This lake is said to be one of western Uganda’s most beautiful spots. It is Africa’s second deepest lake [900 meters] and one of the few places in the country where swimming is considered safe due to the absence of bilharzias. You will canoe on this lake, then go to the Safari Resort for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 6: Hike around Lake Bunyonyi before continuing on to Entebbe.

You’ll hike around different hills after breakfast, and the landscape around the lake is made up of terraced hills that protrude from the water’s edge. Bunyonyi means “place of small birds,” and there is plenty of birdlife around the lake, as the name suggests. After that, you will be driven back to Entebbe, stopping for lunch along the way.
