14 Day Explore Uganda Wildlife Apes

Highlights

At your own speed, explore and learn about Uganda’s mother nature. Travel from north to south to see the richness of Uganda’s animals, nature, cultural discussions, and many other activities such as gorilla tracking, chimp tracking, and Batwa talks. The Queen Elizabeth and Murchison Falls savannahs, as well as the Kibale and Bwindi rain forests. This journey across Uganda is the ideal blend of nature, culture, and wildlife, and you’ll spend the night at Uganda’s top mid-range and luxury lodges.

Itenary

Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe International Airport.

    When you arrive at Entebbe airport, our representative, your driver/guide, will meet you and brief you on your safari before transferring you to your lodging. In the afternoon, go on a city tour and see several local landmarks, depending on how much time you have.

Day 2: Jinja, the Nile’s source, and Sezibwa Falls.

    After an early morning breakfast, depart from your accommodation for Jinja via Mukono, stopping at Sezibwa Falls to see the spiritual healing waters. We will eat lunch at the Nile’s Mighty Source, and if time allows, we will also visit Itanda Falls. We return to Kampala in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay at the Hotel.

Day 3: Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary is a protected area for Rhinos.

    After breakfast, our driver/guide will pick you up from your accommodation and transport you to the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, passing through traditional homesteads, arriving in the early afternoon to do the Rhino Trekking, have lunch, and then travel to Masindi for supper and overnight.

Day 4: Budongo Forest Chimpanzee Trekking.

    We transfer to Murchison Falls National Park after an early breakfast, entering the park with a mini-game drive and proceeding straight to Kanio Pabidi station for registration and briefing before beginning our Chimpanzee Trekking. The exercise usually lasts three hours, however it may take less or more time depending on the availability of food. We return to the outpost, eat lunch, relax, and then go to the top of Murchison Falls for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 5: A game drive and a boat ride to the top of the falls are included.

    Early morning meal is followed by a game drive in search of wildlife like as elephants, buffaloes, bushbucks, giraffes, cobs, lions, and leopards, among others. It also has a diverse bird population (450 species), including the rare Shoe Billed Stock. It usually takes three to four hours to go on a game drive. We return to the Lodge, relax, eat lunch, and then embark on a boat trip down the Nile at 2:00 p.m. for yet another but different view of the wildlife up close as they cool off along the riverbanks, as well as a glimpse of the Falls from the bottom side. We return to the Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 6: Delta Launch and Hoima Transfer

    After a leisurely breakfast, we embark on a boat excursion to the Delta, where we will see more wildlife, including the Shoe Billed Stork. We return to the Lodge for lunch before continuing on to Hoima via the Bulisa escapement for a greater view of Lake Albert and the Albertine Rift Valley, where we check in to a Hotel for dinner and stay.

Day 7: Transfer from Hoima to Kibale National Park

    After breakfast, we transfer to Kibale National Park via traditional homesteads and the Fort Portal (Kabarore) tea estate, stopping for lunch en route. We arrive in the evening and check into the Rweteera safari park for supper and sleep.

Day 8: Trekking with Chimpanzees, Kibale and Bigodi Swamp Walks

    After breakfast, we descend to the Park Offices for registration and briefing before beginning our trek through one of East Africa’s oldest forests, with trees reaching 50 meters in height. The search for habituated chimpanzees could take up to three hours. The Black and White Colobus, Red Colobus, Red-tailed, Lhotse’s Monkeys, and Grey-cheeked Mangabey are among the five primate species found in the woodland. A number of bird species, including the uncommon Green Breasted Pita, call it home. We return to the Lodge, unwind, eat lunch, and then take a nature walk in the Bigodi wetlands, which is also quite rewarding. We return to the Lodge for dinner and a night’s stay.

Day 9: Transfer from Kibale to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

    After breakfast, we depart for Queen Elizabeth National Park, passing via the Crater Lakes region and continuing south through the foothills of the Rwenzori Mountain Ranges, which create the western Rift Valley and the Uganda-Congo border. With a stopover in Kasese for lunch. We approach the park with a mini-game drive and check in to the bush lodge’s service in the afternoon, then enjoy a free afternoon, supper, and sleep. The Baboon Safari Resort is a place where you can go on a safari.

Day 10: Early morning game drive and Kazinga channel boat cruise

    The day begins with a cup of coffee/tea in the morning, followed by a game drive across the Kasenyi plains in search of wildlife such as elephants, waterbucks, cobs, buffaloes, giant forest hogs, bushbucks, hyenas, lions, and leopards, as well as a variety of birdlife. This park is reported to contain the largest concentration of bird species of any park on the planet (about 612 birds have been observed). We return to the Lodge for breakfast, relax, eat lunch, and then embark on a boat trip on the Kazinga Channel in the afternoon for yet another but different perspective of wildlife as they come to cool down in the Channel water. In the evening, we return to the Lodge for dinner and stay. The Baboon Safari Resort is a place where you can go on a safari.

Day 11: Transfer from Queen to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

    This is followed by a small wildlife drive in the Ishasha area, where you can see climbing lions.After breakfast, we go to the Katwe salt lake on the Park’s outskirts to learn how salt is extracted locally. Did you know that one of the protective devices used in salt mining is latex? Come see for yourself; it’s well worth your time. We then proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, passing via the Ishasha sector, where we can observe the famous tree-climbing Lions. We arrive in Bwindi in the evening and check into the Gorilla Resort for dinner and overnight. Gorilla Mist Camp is a camp for gorillas.

Day 12: Experience Gorilla Trekking and Batwa Talks

    After breakfast, we proceed to the Park Offices for registration and briefing before embarking on our safari’s highlight, gorilla trekking. Hikers will like it, despite the fact that it might be tough trekking in muddy circumstances on mountainous Yenata and with rain in the forecast. Depending on the availability of food, this could take anywhere from 2 to 8 hours. We return to the Lodge for dinner before heading to Gorilla Mist Camp for the night.

Day 13: Transfer from Bwindi Impenetrable National Park to Lake Mburo National Park

    After breakfast, we drive to Lake Mburo National Park, passing through the rolling hills of Kigezi and Ankole and stopping for lunch along the way. We arrive in the afternoon and do a mini-game drive before checking into Eagles Nest Lodge. After that, we go on a boat ride on Lake Mburo in search of wildlife like as hippos, crocodiles, elands, statungas, and monitor lizards. A variety of birds, including the uncommon African Finfoot, are expected to be seen. We return to the Lodge for dinner and a night’s stay.

Day 14: Kampala – Lake Mburo National Park

    The day begins early with a nature walk along the Lake Mburo shoreline in search of animals such as Zebras, Impalas, Reedbuck, Cliffspringers, Buffaloes, and Leopards, as well as a variety of birds like as the Papyrus Gonolake. We return to the hotel for breakfast before departing for Kampala in the afternoon, where we will check in to the hotel or the airport, depending on the time.
